Para entender toda la gama de implicaciones económicas y ambientales de estas estrategias de política pública e inversión en la riqueza y el bienestar nacional, se aplicó la Plataforma de Modelación Ambiental y Económica Integrada para Guatemala (IEEM-GUA por sus siglas en inglés). IEEM es lo ultimo en herramientas disponibles para estimar los impactos económicos y ambientales y los impactos sobre la riqueza que tendría la implementación de estrategias nacionales destinadas a lograr los objetivos de desarollo sostenible.
