Valuation of Selected Ecosystem Goods and Services in the Pagbilao Mangrove Forest
This study is part of the Phil-WAVES project of PSA, which aims to conduct valuation surveys and data collection to facilitate the preparation of costs and returns of recreational services, fisheries, mangrove and mangrove-related products, and value and type of residential and non-residential units. The municipality of Pagbilao was chosen as the pilot site in the creation of a mangrove account since it has the most number of true and associated mangrove species - estimated at 40 - compared with other mangrove areas in the Philippines. It also has the second most diverse mangrove forest in the world.
